Initially a surfboard made of wood, shaped like an ironing board. The front end is made in a half circle and the tail is flat. Over time the board continues to vary in shape and material. Size: 5-6 feet. Used for small waves.

Size: 6-8 feet. Used for big waves.
- Shortboard
Size: 5, 10 - 6 and 6 inches. Used for small and medium waves.
- Retro Single Fin
Size: 6, 8 - 7.2 inches. Used for medium waves.
- Malibu or Longboard
Size: 9 feet. Used for small to medium waves with strong strength.
- Funboard
Size: 6, 6 - 7.6 inches. Used for small, medium waves with strong strength.
- Guns
Size: 7 - 12 feet. Used for large waves with strong strength.
- Semi Guns
Size: 6, 8 - 7.2 inches. Used for medium waves with strong power
- Mini Tanker or Mini Malibu
Size: 7, 6 - 8.2 inches. Used for medium waves with strong strength.
In addition to Knowing theTypes of Surfboards, Beginners Must Know the Parts of the Board, Namely:
- Nose is the front end of the board. For beginners, you can choose the edge of a round and blunt board, while for professionals you can use a board that has a thin pointed shape like a triangle.
- Deck is the top board where surfers stand.
- Bottom is the bottom of the board facing the water.
- Rail is the edge of the board.
- Fin is a board fin whose function is to regulate board motion. This fin is mounted behind on the bottom side of the board.
- Tail is the back of the board
- Streinger is a wooden hole in the middle of the board.
- A leash cup is a hole behind the board where you tie a rope.
